Welcome to the next chapter with Jules Webber. Flirting with Forty is the newsletter I started when I realized my 40th birthday was just over four years away and I wanted to use my voice to shape Millennial cultural and political conversations positively. A lot of us will turn 40 soon feeling as though we are not “where we thought” we would be, including myself. Many of us already have. But what does it look like to flirt with possibility? What would it mean to redefine and reimagine the relationships, politics, and feminism that come with this milestone for a new generation?
About Jules
My name is Jules Webber. I am a communicator, marketer, executive coach and former dating influencer that you may know from Instagram. First and foremost, I am a writer. Second, I am a wannabe journalist who missed her calling as a news editor and presidential speechwriter. I have a closet full of Reformation dresses and grew up on the Spice Girls and Shania Twain. I am a military kid born in the UK, an ex-vangelical, and voted McCain, Romney, Hilary, Biden. I still regret never having voted Obama. I am European-American, Jewish, and have lived my entire adulthood in Texas. There is no Taylor Swift song I do not know the words to.
My feminism, mental health, and economic standing have been radically shaped by my choice to marry, have children, and divorce all by the age of 30. Much of my passion, ambition, and desire for change is driven by how this has influenced my life as a mother. I’m a Texas A&M Aggie, C/o 2011. Like you, I want a relationship with media that I can trust. I want to have less divisive conversations about politics. And I want to talk about how to create that.
Join the conversation
I would love if you subscribed, so we can keep the conversation going. I believe in paying for the media we consume. This ultimately helps create trust in media by allowing journalists and creators to write from their genuine perspective, rather than what will generate clicks or go viral in an algorithm. That said, I know some people will be content to receive simply a free newsletter now and then, and will not choose to become a paid subscriber. I’m still glad you are here! This is what you can expect:
Free Subscribers:
You’ll receive an e-mail every time I post something new to my site and be invited to read and comment on free posts. You can expect around one out of every four posts will be available to free subscribers.
Paid Subscribers:
For either $8/month or $80/year, you’ll get access to everything I post in full, along with VoiceOver recordings of my long-form writing, Podcast episodes, the ability to comment on posts (I’ll respond to every single one), and extras like my Austin recommendations and reviews, links to what I’m reading, watching, and buying, and guest interviews with some of my favorite creators. The paid subscription is truly not-to-be-missed!
Founding Member:
You might be a longtime follower or someone newer with particular excitement to hear my point of view, and hopefully share yours as well. Founding members allow me to spend more time creating this newsletter and adding value for the entire community. You’ll give $240 or more for a year-long subscription and the first ten founders will be invited to a 1:1 call directly with me. We can simply catch up, or I can bring my fabulous coaching skills and support you in your relationships and/or career.
Above all, thank you for being a part of this with me! I am thrilled to have you here in whatever capacity, and I hope we get to connect often via comments (I respond to every single one!). See you in there!
Xx, Jules
